More about what I do

I am an interpretive artist who will create a memorable piece of art for you "live" at your special occasion. I specialize in creating a unique, one of a kind, colorful interpretive pastel (3ft x 5ft) to the music of your choice during your special event. This can be done during your special song, your special dance or at just the perfect moment for your unique memory and finished on location in approximately an hour. There are many uses for reprints of this one of a kind personal touch to your special day. Your print can be reproduced in many different sizes to accommodate your needs for thank you notes, or prints (framed or unframed) for special guests, family members or wedding members to be given at a later date. This is a very personal touch for someone who deserves the very best in remembering their most precious day or moment in their lives. These drawings can be done at any special day you'd like to have captured in a piece of art - here are a few suggestions:

Weddings/Receptions Anniversary Parties
Engagement Parties Birthday Parties
Any and all events that warrant a unique remembrance!

For Consultations or appointments, send me a message and I'll be glad to speak with you further!!

OK, I think I'm on a roll....

Maybe there really IS always a silver lining. :)

My 2 day low grade fever forced me to stop. I had places to go from Monday night through today-

Monday night - Supper with Matthew

Tuesday morning - West Michigan Prayer Center Meeting
Tuesday afternoon - Lunch with the girls from the Tuesday morning meeting
Tuesday evening - attempt to make some things for the craft show Saturday
Wednesday - Kaden Day!!

Wednesday evening - trip to Holland with my best friend
Thursday - work at the office
Thursday night - Supper with Matthew (rescheduled from Monday)

Sheesh!!!

So, while I've been limply laying in my bed, I've had time to think. I realized this is running from one thing to another with never enough time to really do anything just craziness and I have to come up with a plan. I can't just run around like a crazy woman. I need to be a crazy woman with a schedule and a plan :)

I thought about the things I want to do, and the things I need to do and thought about how I could fit the two together. I realized there were scheduled things that I had no choice in, like the Tuesday morning meeting, and other things that I plain need to find time to do like make things for craft shows. So I thought of which days are already full, which ones aren't, what days would be best for what. I opened an excel spreadsheet and made myself a chart and filled it in! Woot! I even scheduled free time :)

Now, I know that actually implementing this will be the hard part but it's kinda cool to have a plan and a tool. It will take time to find out if this is the right tool for the job and if I can learn how to handle the tool.

I printed out a copy - on lavender paper :) - and tacked it to the wall :D
And all because I got a chance to stop and think :D

Oh - and here's a drawing for this post as promised

Thought for the day...

I'm a bit contemplative this morning so I thought I'd blog about it. AANNNDD I'll be adding a picture of one of my drawings to every post so here is today's picture:

This one was drawn to the music of a folk band at an outdoor concert downtown at Rosa Parks Circle.

The thought for the day is FOLLOW THROUGH. I'm understanding more about my personality and propensity (oooooh - big word!) and, for some reason, I tend to gravitate toward developing new and exciting ideas but once the attraction of beginning something new is gone, I fizzle and lose my momentum and the project gets put on the shelf. Then I look for something else new to get excited about.

Although having new ideas is a good thing, this pattern is not a good thing. It may be cool to have something to be excited about but I'm realizing that this way of living does not bear much fruit - financially and other ways too. Somehow I have to put on some proverbial blinders to block out the proverbial shiny things that catch my eye and stay focused on what's in front of me! I think the beginning of making that work is becoming more aware that this is how my head works. The next step is turning away from this way of thinking by talking to myself about it on a regular basis. Yes, I talk to myself - but mostly in my head. I learned early on that talking to myself out loud makes others move to the sidewalk on the other side of the street :)

So, it's time to change. It's time to follow through with what is at hand BEFORE it becomes one more thing on the shelf. AANNDD it's time to do something with all of the things that have been shelved!!! Hence, the Home School Building craft show on November 21 :) I'll be gathering my shelf contents into neat little boxes and selling them for $5 each! And in the meantime, I'll be continuing what I've started - which means musical drawings, recycling sweaters and baskets into usable home decor and painting pretty little pictures on nail files!!

First Post, New Drawing!

Here is Sunday's drawing...

It's called "Draw the line" which could mean a few different things. I'm thinking of the idea of drawing the line in the sand. Sometimes we need to draw the line and acknowledge that 'it' stops here and now - whatever the negative 'it' may be. Or, maybe 'it' starts here - whatever the positive 'it' is!

Whichever it may be, there are going to be times in life when a change needs to happen. We need to be willing to do the work to make it happen.
